Throwing Away Mulch

This morning, Mallory and I met Aunt Lori and Cousin Ivan at the park for a little bit of play time. Although Mallory did go down the slide on my lap, she wasn't very active on the playground. She spent most of her time in my arms watching her cousin run around and play. Ivan is just a ball of energy and loved playing. He does not walk, he runs from slide to swing to drums to grass until something new catches his eye. After running around for a little while, he decided that there was a much better game to play then playing on the playground. That is when he began to throw away the mulch. He got a kick out of picking up a single piece of mulch, walking all the way across the playground just to throw that single piece of mulch away in the trash can. Then, he just proceeded back to the next piece of mulch, just to throw it away. Did I mention the entire playground was mulch? Thank goodness we have people like Ivan who are dedicated to cleaning up the mulch of the world.

After Aunt Lori convinced Ivan that there were other games to play, I was delighted to hear Ivan say "Mallory" several times. He seemed very excited to play with baby Mallory and seemed upset when she was out of sight. It was very sweet.
